· Explain why they are an interesting brand for your Brand Marketing Report.
I have shopped there before, often go in if I’m in Meadowhall to look but rarely buy as too expensive. Can use my own experiences there to base some of my research off. Like it when I see clothing on someone that’s my body type which isn’t the body type shown by VS. I like their products but at the moment wouldn’t buy them.
· Justify their current position in the market, whilst looking at their history.
A range in audience age. Women shopping for themselves, partners shopping for their girlfriends, girls and their mums, groups of girls. Changed a lot since their beginnings of being a store to enable men to feel more comfortable buying underwear and lingerie for their partners. These days their main customer is women buying the products for themselves. Advertisements for men not women.
· Summarise the findings/methodologies of your research.
Conducted an online questionnaire, able to access 100 peoples answers. Interviews with their current customers. Found that a lot of people found it an expensive brand, many only shop when there is sale on. A lot of people do shop there but some prefer online retailers and other underwear specialists who are cheaper. Secondary research taken from sites such as Mintel
· Present your recommended future strategy for the brand.
Definitely needs to be a change in the models that they use. There’s nothing wrong with the models themselves that they are using at the moment but there is a need for a bigger range of body types as at the moment they aren’t displaying their products on models who are relatable to the majority of their customers. Through social media using different influencers on Instagram who are body confidence advocates.
